Sam Bucolo, PhD, MAppSc, GDID, BAppSc (Industrial Design), FDIA, MAICD, is serving as the Jury Co-Chair of the Cumulus Green 2020: For a New Circular Economy award. Sam is an industrial designer with 30 years spanning industry and academia. Sam is currently Design Thinker in Residence with Meat and Livestock Australia and Adjunct Professor of Design at Swinburne University. Sam has collaborated widely with a diverse set of industry partners and sectors, where his focus is to build stronger partnerships between academia, industry and government through design practices.
Sam has led many government initiatives on embedding design within organisations, has held several senior positions within Universities and has been a former entrepreneur. As former Cumulus Vice President and Executive Board member (2013–2019) Sam ’s service for the association focused on advancing internationalization and leadership and strategy. Sam is an elected Fellow of the Design Institute of Australia and has received an Australian Design Honours from the Australian Design Centre and is a Good Design Australia Ambassador.
