Kimberly Bediako
Senior Lecturer in Fashion Design, University of Johannesburg
Dr Kimberly Bediako is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Fashion Design at the University of Johannesburg. She holds a PhD in Communication from the University of South Africa. Kimberly has worked on international research projects and initiatives that contribute to the discourse of gender equality and representation, design education, and youth development through organisations such as Unilever and Project Everyone. In 2025, Kimberly was selected to serve on the Y20 South Africa 2025 Working Group, focusing on Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability under the South African G20 Presidency. Since 2020, she has been a member of the Executive Management Committee of the Design Education Forum of Southern Africa (DEFSA) and served as its President from 2023 to 2025.
