Gianpaolo Fusari

An award-winning Industrial Designer with over 15 years’ experience in product design and development in healthcare. Gianpaolo is a Senior Designer and acting Head of Products & Platforms at the Helix Centre where he has applied his product design skills in different projects including improving uptake to bowel cancer screening and reducing pressure ulcers caused by oxygen therapies. Gianpaolo leads the Helix Centre’s research in rehabilitation where he is working with people with lived experience and clinicians to develop solutions to improve arm rehabilitation, such as OnTrack Rehab. Before joining Helix, Gianpaolo was a Senior Research Associate at the Helen Hamlyn Centre for Design where he led the work of the ground-breaking redesign of the UK emergency ambulance, recipient of the prestigious Design Museum Design of the Year Award and the Industrial Designers Society of America IDEA Award. Gianpaolo holds a joint MA/MSc from the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London.
