The Solution of Two Cups to Reduce Plastic

The consumption of plastic in the beverage industry is huge, we have designed two cups to solve it

Solution

Aiming at the problem of plastic waste in the beverage industry, we have designed two cups for eat-in and take-away scenarios.

Project Description

Policies to limit plastics are increasingly being implemented in countries around the world. In light of this trend, we focused on the on-site beverage, which consumes a great deal of plastic, in the hope of coming up with alternative solutions to the problems of plastic restrictions. Through the analysis of the plastic problem in the industry, we found two scenarios of the problem. Our solutions will revolve around these two scenarios.

Overview of the Solution

Aiming at the problem of plastic waste in the beverage industry, we have designed two cups for two scenarios. In the eat-in scene, we consider from the perspective of recycling and designed a reusable cup, which is easy to operate and clean, and suitable for many types of drinks. In the take-away scene, we consider from the perspective of removing plastic and designed a folding cup, which combine the cup, lid, straw, plastic bag into one body, reducing materials and facilitating recycling.

We use a cup with a partition as solution A. The main feature of this scheme is to reduce the use of disposable plastic cups through the reuse of degradable plastic cups in eat-in scenario . The pictures show its structure, materials, usage and advantages.
The flow of the cup in the usage scenario.
We use a foldable paper cup as solution B. The main feature is to reduce the use of plastic by replacing plastic cups, including bags, LIDS, cups and straws, with plastic-free paper cups made of new materials in take-away scenarios. The picture shows its structure, materials, usage and advantages.
